Directions

Schadau Castle may be reached as follows.

By car:
Geneva - Lausanne - Bern - Thun: 2.5 hours
Zürich - Bern - Thun: 1.5 hours
Basel - Bern - Thun: 1.5 hours
Luzern - Interlaken - Thun: 1.5 hours

1. Take the A6 past Bern direction Thun. Leave the A6 at the exit Thun-Süd.Enter the roundabout and take the 1st exit onto Weststrasse.
   
2. At the 2nd roundabout, take the 1st exit and continue along Weststrasse.
   
3. At the traffic light, continue straight into Talackerstrasse. Follow the road.
   
4. At the next traffic light, leave the Talackerstrasse and turn right into Frutigenstrasse.
   
5. Follow the road, then turn left onto the Seestrasse. Follow the road until Scherzligen Church.
6. Parking is available on the Schadau / Scherzlingen parking lot opposite Scherzligen Church, 2 minutes walk from the castle.

Parking in front of the castle is not permitted, except after 18:00 during the winter months (November-March, chargebale). Schadau Castle assumes no liability for illegally parked vehicles or for any damage to vehicles parked on the Schadau Castle grounds.

By train
Via Bern to Interlaken (from Geneva, Zurich, Basel, Lucerne)
Thun has an own train station.
Taxi costs: approx. CHF 10.00, 3 minutes driving, 12 minutes walking
Bus No. 1 (direction Gwatt-Zentrum/ Spiez), Bus stop: Schadau/ Scherzligen (1 station from train station)

By boat:
From Interlaken West via Neuhaus - Beatushöhlen - Beatenbucht - Merligen - Faulensee - Spiez - Gunten - Oberhofen - Hilterfingen - Hünibach bis Thun.
From Bächimatt via Aare river to landing stage church Scherzligen

By helikopter:
airfield Steffisburg or Hilterfingen

By private jet or airplane:
